So very excited............

It is my pleasure to be offering (2), three hour Mixed Media Art Workshops as part of the Four Elements Health & Wellness Festival on Sunday August 3oth 2015.
My intention for the workshops is to INSPIRE you to CREATE, and EXPRESS yourself through ART… Art can be therapeutic. A time of learning to ‘let go’ of boundaries, freedom of expression and sometimes, healing and growing.
Even if you think you can’t draw a stick figure, anyone can create art! There are no mistakes!
Come along, and join me in either one, or both workshops. We will be creating on canvas, using many mediums, including acrylic paints, inks, also collage, and lots of ‘mark making’… all materials will be included in the price of $25 per workshop.

"I don't know if I can do this"

That was one of the quotes from one of the lovely participants at the DREAM CATCHER Workshop last night..... but once she started the first layer, she was getting right 'into it'....

There were 4 excited and eager 'students just itching to get started, and it was just lovely to have a Mum, daughter and 10 year old Grand daughter, enjoying making art together. I truly love the chatter, and the inspiration we give each other, and of course, the friendships we created whilst we were making art together.

We had fun using Dylusions Ink Sprays, JW Acrylic Artists Ink, and Liquitex Professional Acrylic Inks to create our Dream Catcher Canvases... The colours are vibrant, and every canvas was so different... I thought this 'project' would be a great way to learn how to 'let go' and 'accept' the organic flow of the inks... to just LET IT HAPPEN! ..... and the results speak for themselves.

The beginning of Mel's Dream Catcher

Mel's finished Dream catcher canvas.... GORGEOUS colour combo.
Debbie's Dream Catcher
Debbie's finished Dream Catcher... for her Grandson's Bedroom :-)
The beginning of Dakota's Dream Catcher...
Dakota is 10 years old and this is her finished Dream Catcher... FABULOUS!!!
This is Charmaine's finished Dream Catcher.. I lovoove the colours :-)

and last, but not least, my finished Dream Catcher... I added KindyGlitz to create highlights, and it looks gorgeous with the 'matte' background and the random sparkle.

 I love them ALL...

A Long Weekend this weekend...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, being home everyday.... no work to have to go to......... and so..... I have been making ART!!!

Love this Class by Willowing - The Sacred Inner Eye...

I am also doing Beautiful Faces and I {Heart} Drawing by Jane 'Danger" Davenport

This is my take on Week 23, Magic, Vulnerability and Courage by Willowing Life Book 2015

Here is a sneak peak at something I would like to teach at the next Rinrinka Mixed Media Workshops this coming 23rd, 24th, and 25th June.

I felt like going back to my 'Joynal' today, by Jane Davenport . I LOVE this journal... I need to do more in it!

I've had so many online classes 'on the go', and deciding which one to stick to has been a difficult choice.

So, I just go with which one 'feels right' at the time...

I wonder what I will do next?

I got my S**t together

and made time to create an Art Journal page inspired by Willowing - aka Tamara LaPorte, from Processing Feelings through Creativity....

I just love how she turned out..

I started with this background using my Gellie Plate with my favourite colours... it's amazing how it all comes together!

The finished 2 page spread..

I have many backgrounds already created in my journals, but it was fun to get the Gelli Plate out and play....

Definitely love the process of this creation... You must try it... very freeing...

Til next time... xxxx

I get withdrawal symptoms.........

when I can't create or paint something!!

Yes I do!!

I have been extremely busy with my 'day job' (meh!), and our Photo Booth Business (which I love!), and so getting 'arty' is put on the back burner, unfortunately.

I managed these 3 watercolour sketches since I last posted on the Blog.

Autumn Scene 2

My sketch of the Valley Lake I love to walk my little doggy
It's Sunday evening and almost time to head for bed before I go to work early in the morning. It's frustrating having the urge to create, but not having the time and energy... grrr
I plan to catch up with some of the online classes I have purchased. I have seen so many awesome artworks so far on Facebook, totally amazing!!!

I hope you have had a fabulous weekend....

Keep safe!!

33 Sketches in Sketch Your Life Class...

Last night I felt like adding a sketch to my Journal...
WINTER BLUES in Autumn.. it's been cold, wet and windy here, and I really, really dislike the cold!!

The last Blog post I had finished the apples, and keeping with the Autumn theme, the next sketch was mushrooms...  I love these..

and cute little hedgehog..

I have almost finished all the Class Projects, just a couple to go, but I will be adding sketches to my own Sketch My Life Journal... it will be great to look back at my past sketches about my life...

I hope I have inspired you to give it a go!

More Watercolour Sketching...

Now I'm painting an Autumn Theme ....

Here are the Autumn theme sketches so far...

I made the journal from watercolour paper.. (not happy though) it was cheap paper, and it doesn't play nice!! The paper 'pills' and it 'grabs' the colour and water too fast, so it gets very wet too quickly, and very hard to blend the colours.

This is how my Autumn journal looks... the pages soaked up the water, and the pages are very buckled...

I'm going to persevere with it, and make a new journal from my sheet of Arches watercolour paper for my own Sketch Your Life journal...

The next Autumn projest is MUSHROOMS....  I'm looking forward to this  too.. see how I go..

Watercolour Sketches... Sketch Your Life!

I love this online class Sketch Your Life by Andrea Gomoll. Learning the basics of watercolour and sketching... something I have always wanted to master...

I have been sketching and painting like a mad woman... and loving every minute...

Here are some of my favourites...

Well I have one more project in Part 3, then onto Part 4!!
